Myself and Mr Rajagopal were nominated for going as witness for CBI search.
We went to the CBI office exactly at 6 am. We were asked to come to the Office and nothing more would be said. The Bank had arranged a Car. There was no sign of any person. Rajagopal pressed the calling bell. I was going for the first time ( i all along hated it but Mr Viswanathan, CM avoided me, i wanted to go for once. On hearing the bell, somebody said 'good morning" pl wait and they were telling themselves.."Witness aya". We, then told them that we would return after a cup of tea. We, returned and sat inside the office for some time when Mr.Sahib the Inspector of IB came and shook hands with us.
We then got into the car. The car moved on and they asked the driver to go to Vattiyoorkavu. When we reached the place, one or two persons were enquired of the "Chitra Nagar" and we then saw a board. Inside the lane, we went to D3. We got down and still we do not know who the person was. We went in and only then we knew that it was one Mr.C G Nair, DGM, Canara Bank. I felt bad, because i was also a banker.
We were a party for a search team of CBI. His wife opened the door and the Inspector asked Mr.C G Nair. He was sleeping. After some time he came and Inspector handed over the CBI letter and he signed on it. The search began from the Hall. All the files, paper by paper,in each racks and the Inspector collected some papers.
The DGM and his family seemed cool. He said that he has seen such searches when he was a Vigilance Officer.
His son has resigned Mahindra and is here before proceeding to IIT Chennai for M Tech. I felt bad as to how this child would feel.
The case was on a complaint filed by his own Bank on a loan to a Media group run by a former Congress MP from Guwahati. His family jagada lead to this.
Though an internal enquiry was over, a new CVO gave this complaint to CBI.
The CBI Officer arranged Appam and curry for us. After all the rooms were searched, the man from Delhi for whom the Tvm team did the search was consulted and a list was prepared.
The fixed deposit receipts and a number of watches received as gifts were all returned back.
After all rooms were searched, the locker keys were taken custody. One locker was at their Sasthamangalam and other at Cantonment. On the way to Sasthamangalam, we had lunch and the search was over at 4.30 p m. The DGM's wife had only some 600 gm ornaments. And they decided to go to search Cantonment locker tomorrow.
We bid bye to DGM, the Manager of the branch Mr.Janardhanan. We returned back to Santhinagar CBI office, by 5 p.m.
What will happen, tomorrow. the whole Canara Bank would come to know of it as if this DGM had extended a bad loan. He had extended only the last portion of the remaining term loan. But in between the Bank had been asked to stop transactions by one of the Direcotrs of the company, which the Bank did not accept on being advised by the Law department.
Why the DGM relaeased the loan was to be asked to him. But this case not being a case in Kerala, and because this Inspector seemed to be a good officer, this went as a cool affair. The CBI officials kept back rack by rack the files taken out. Nothing was shattered and the place never did see as if it is a search operation.
But let people dont give loans..

fears of a brahmin
Sundara raj, the Iyengar a retired IB man, who stays just at the gate of the great Padmanabhaswamy temple died yesterday. He shot into fame because of his suit against the trustees of the temple.
Why did he file a suit? Some say the present Maharaja and trustee of the temple asked for rent for his house where he was staying since generations and he never thought that he would be asked to vacate. His family was very close to the earlier Kings.
But some say that, as many people in the temple, he too feared that the present temple trustees and their henchmen were bent upon destroying temple property. But they never expected this big.
So it struck in my mind that it is the Brahmins, in spite of their goodness, did all bad to the Temple, the Fort area and even to the religion - out of fear.
The Brahmins were welcomed to this land by the Kings. The Puthen Street for eg.was gifted for better commune living.
These theruvu, Fort, are all built by Vastu experts. Each street had a temple.
It was a beautiful concept also.
The brahmin family can live peacefully without any other income.
But see what has happened..
The brahmins slowly forgot the temple. They slowly joined the Government service and became fixed monthly earners. That went on for years. But in my childhood, the class first, school first and SSLC first , why all exam firsts, were Brahmin children. But now brahmin boys are no where in the picture.
Look at the vedic side. There is terrible shortage for priests. Children do not learn vedas. At the maximum one in a ten may have learned Sahasranamam and Rudram. They have forgot sandyavandavam.
But go to temples, other caste people are experts in many vedic verses.
The street houses, which are to be held as heritage buildings, are now desecrated and concrete buildings have come up. Many a neighbour are at loggerheads because they have common walls and its miserable when your neighbour turns his house to concrete houses and no brahmin has either respect to Vastu or are they able to build as per vastu and the commune living has gone. Above all they sell these houses to non hindus and the temple precints will have different culture.
Less to speak of vegetarianism among brahmins.
Where are we heading..The Brahmins who are supposed to be the guardians of Hinduism, the Vedas ..where is the safe hands..
All this happens because of the fears of the brahmins..

Sree Padmanabha swamy temple
One Mr.Sundar raj files a suit so that the temple should not fall on wrong hands..But now..The temple has now become to be known as the Richest Lord in the whole of India. It seems to be a great thing. The media is happy to publish news though they are not yet sure of the news. The Court appointed Officials puts the figures around 75000 crore rupees worth without taking into account its antique values. The business people around the temple are happy that their business would go up. The people who occupy the temple property without paying rent are the most worried. Those arrogant security people at the temple are worried at the Government's mention that they would post Police security. The politicians have already begun to dream an entry into the Trust (one can imagine the politicians fighting to post their people in Guruvayur Temple Management. Down the years, the very same media will be busy throwing out scam stories.
Imagine, a small bunch of keys tightly held by the Tantri. Had he a slight knowledge of the amount he would never have had his sleep all these years. He guarded the treasure with a deep sense of bhakthi. He never had a liking for a sand of gold. The Kings, had they the slightest inkling to own a new car or anything latest..and with the privipurse of the Government not able to meet a part of even the temple expenses, it was they who guardians to this treasure yet living a humble living with no withdrawals from this treasure for their or their tribes upkeep..can any laud be loud enough?
Now there is another set of thinkers waiting for the socialism tag to be added to this treasure.
Besides, the Nizam like Museums of Hyderabad Palace will be upcoming..
But my worry is "Will i ever be able to go into the temple as free as i was going..and there are innumerable people around the temple who cannot sleep without seeing the Lord once in a day..and can they pray to HIM as freely as they were doing/. Cameras seen and hidden, Securities of different and at different places, restrictions galore.. are all that awaiting us the poor folks around the temple.
We are slowly inclined to make the visit in long gaps and pray at home before the beautiful Lords picture with the beatuful Ona Villu.
